Bernie is a con man. I contracted All about the House Painting and Remodeling to build a porch with a roof on the front of the house, extend the roof over the patio on back, extend the garage roof and install new shingles on both buildings. He was also to paint the exterior for a nice fresh look to the exterior. I paid for all materials ($10,000) and rented a dumpster($700). I gave him a check for $5,000 to pay his labor costs. I would also pay Bernie another $5,000 when the garage and house roof were shingled. At the completion of the job I would pay him another $5,000 plus any extra costs. I was told this would be a 3 week job. He started by first unloading construction debris from his previous job into my rented dumpster. The crew (2men) worked for 3 days 6hrs. each day the first week. Then came the excuses (valid or not) of why they had to be somewhere else the next week. Showing up sporadically made us (my wife and me) a bit nervous but Bernie assured me all was good. Showing up sporadically also gave us plenty of time to inspect the work being done. We both noticed things did not look good. I talked with the crew foreman when they showed up and he did redo quite a bit of the porch and the garage roof. I'm in construction , I know things happen so it will be ok, I hope. Time to shingle the house and when I get home they're finishing up the roof shingles on the house. Good, Things are finally moving forward after many delays. Problem with the roof. Roofers installed ridge vent that I had bought with out cutting the opening in the plywood. Bernie Shows up a few days later and he wants $2,000. Not exactly in the payment schedule. I ask him about the ridge vent not being correctly installed. This is when the friendly Bernie turned into angry Bernie. I wasn't prepared to give him $2,000. His crew did come back and they installed the ceiling on the porch. It was poorly installed. It was extremely wavy. He showed up the next week with his 14-year old son to do work. I told Bernie the ceiling needs redone before Bernie and his son can work on the back deck. Bernie became angry again. And in front of his son and crew and myself stormed off of the job saying"this is not a good fit". Several days go by and I call him to get the status of our contracted work. Bernie was cordial and said they'll be back. The crew showed up, Alonzo the foreman looked at the porch ceiling and took it down saying "I can't leave it like that". Bernie once again asked for money. I agreed and called home to my wife and have her give Bernie a check for $5,000. Bernie came to the house to get the check. My wife told me of his crude sexual innuendo that made her feel uncomfortable. Very unprofessional to say the least, more like sexual harassment. That was the last I saw of the crew. Bernie blocked my phone calls and texts. The new roof was leaking and I was blocked. I called another roofer told him the situation. He came and looked at the roof and said "you use my phone to see if you're being blocked. Sure enough Bernie answered the phone. I asked him if he was going to repair the leak on the new roof. After a little back and forth Bernie went insane.. In front of the other roofer with the phone on speaker Bernie lost it. He called me "************" and threatened violence. I handed the phone back while Bernie was screaming obscenities. It has now been 7 months since I contracted with Bernie and All About The House. My project is halfway complete. The new roof leaks. I am now doing the work myself. I regret hiring Bernie and All About the House Painting.
A moisture meter will let your contractor know if there’s moisture in the stucco before starting. The wetter the material, the less ready it is to be sanded, painted, finished or covered. Your contractor will use a premixed stucco repair patch material to fill any small holes and will paint on dry days to avoid sealing in water. Painting rough stucco requires more paint. Brush painting stucco costs $112 per 100 sq. ft., roll painting costs $55 per 100 sq. ft., and spray painting stucco costs $25 per 100 sq. ft. House Painting Broomfield CO
Paint supplies cost anywhere from $10 to $100 or more depending on what you need. Painters will typically provide most of the supplies for a project, but sometimes they will allow you to pay for solely labor if you provide all the materials yourself. You might decide to do a DIY paint job down the road. In which case having these supplies on-hand will save you time and money.
Before you start a painting job either on the interior your home, or the exterior, you’ll need to estimate how much paint to buy. There are various factors to take into consideration when deciding how many gallons of paint to buy for your project. You’ll need the square footage of the area that needs to be painted, while keeping in mind that doors and windows require a different type of paint from the walls.
It’ll cost you between $500 and $1,000 to paint the exterior yourself. Not including paint, it’ll cost you no more than $200 to $300 at a home improvement store like Home Depot, Lowes or Menards. You may end up spending more if you buy high-quality products from specialized shops. Professionals can get the same supplies for about half what you’ll pay.

I hired Israel General Painting to paint the exterior of my house. He helped with color schemes and also getting samples to test. As we decided on the colors he washed and prepared the house then primed and painted. Did a great job. He was very flexible with color changes. He also did a different color around doors and windows with no extra charge. He also primed and painted the porch. He was quite punctual unless my experience with other contractors, which was really good. After the painting was done he also cleaned the roof and around the house and putting back the things in place. We ended up with him painting a room in the house as well (of course that’s with a new quote). I highly recommend Israel General Painting for your painting needs. I plan on hiring Israel again to paint the interior of the rest of my house next year! House Painting Broomfield CO
Staining a deck costs $540 to $1,000. Covered porches might hit $2,000. Consider negotiating the price a bit lower by combining it with a full exterior job. Painting handrails can run anywhere from $1 to $2 per linear foot, depending on whether it’s wood, metal or some other material. Although you might think this is an easy $30 to $100 job, most painters charge a minimum fee regardless of the size of the project. You’ll probably end up paying at least $150. Wood is probably the most time-consuming when it comes to preparing it for paint. It has to be scraped and sanded until there isn’t a single chip or bit of loose paint in sight. Any wood siding or trim with wood rot will need to be replaced, and all cracks and holes need to be filled with epoxy filler. Brush painting and roll painting wood siding costs $43 per 100 sq. ft., and spray painting costs $34 per 100 sq. ft. House Painting Broomfield Colorado

Power washing – $0.42–$1.40/sq. ft.. You might think you can save some money by power washing the exterior yourself, but homeowners can get a bit trigger-happy with a power washer in their hands. The pressure from the washer can take them unawares, breaking windows, leaking water into window frames and siding joints, and gouging wood. It’s probably wiser to use a hose and scrubbing brush. Rinse off any cleaning solutions thoroughly. Broomfield House Painting

It is vital to estimate the cost of a painting job before starting it. Estimation of the painting job is not so easy; you need proper planning to accomplish this task. If you don’t know how to bid, then you are not perfect for this job. An accurate estimation helps to gain the trust of the customer and enhance your market value. For that purpose, you need a tool that is a perfect fit for the painting estimation. It is a way to describe the cost of the painting to the client. Before estimating, understand the things that go into the estimation, like how much you need paint, what is the value of the painting, the cost of the labor, and the price of the other material like paint tape, masking paper, brushes, and roller?

The truth is that there are a lot of things that can go wrong with a sloppy painting job and the crappy results will be instantly visible. Prepping the ceiling and walls as well as carefully repairing any damages is 50% of a successful job. However, cheap painters typically rush through this part of the project. Consequently, you see small holes in the walls, paint stains, bubbling paint and other ugly errors. Broomfield House Painting
I rate A&A to be the best of the best. My 75 year old house not shines with the work of this company. They paid particular attention to detail and completed the job to my satisfaction. All concerns were promptly addressed. I would use them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs exterior painting. I will use them in the future to do the interior of my home. Happy to find them.

Summer is the busiest time of the year for painters, with some booked up to six months ahead of time, so book well in advance. Homebuyers getting VA loans have run into difficulties with this, so if you’re getting a VA renovation/rehabilitation loan, get all your painting and inspection estimates and work dates booked before you fill out any paperwork with a closing date, or the house will not be move-in ready in time. If you have two weeks, a ladder and some experience, this makes an excellent DIY project. On most surfaces, it is forgiving of mistakes and easy to work with. IF you want to have textured walls or ceilings, expect to pay at least 50% more for the job per square foot: $6-7.5 per sq.ft. Interior paint really varies in price and quality. Cheap paint by brands like Valspar can cost as little as $20-30 per gallon for flat/matte paint. High-end brands, such as Farrow and Ball, that have very high quality pigments that don't fade overtime as well as unique colors can cost as much as $100-120 per gallon. However, you can get very beautiful results and lasting quality with middle of road, trusted brands such as Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore (sold at your local Lowe's or Home Depot). Depending the type of paint, these brands cost $40-55 per gallon.

Recent Review: Very happy with the end product.  We worked with Josh and he was excellent in explaining and answering questions throughout the project.  He, the deck, paint & roof crew were very professional & courteous.   Work spanned over a period of 5 days.  Only complaint is the punctuality of when crew showed up vs when they said they will.  Not a big deal but would have been great if they were punctual.   Overall extremely satisfied with the finished project.

Homeowners report that painting a home’s exterior costs an average of $2,926 with a typical range between $1,735 and $4,122. The average price per square foot ranges from $0.50 to $3.50 depending on your location, condition of your exterior and accessibility. Stucco and brick cost an average of $1 per square foot more than vinyl or wood. The average 2,500 square feet home costs an average of $4,000, though it can range from $1,250 to $8,750.

You’ll spend between $500 and $3,000 or $1 to $3.50 per square foot to paint concrete. However, expect to pay $2 to $7 per square foot since concrete almost always needs a coat of primer first. Double that price if the concrete requires stripping. Concrete is porous. Sealing it not only helps blend foundations and walls with your home’s aesthetic, but also seals it against water. Repairing or resurfacing concrete costs $300 to $500 for every 100 square feet. Broomfield House Painting
Most of a projects price is the cost of labor at $25 to $75 per hour. However, most contractors bid out based on the entire project which includes all work hours. Hourly rates are only useful if your pro asks to do the job as “time and materials.” However, be wary of this pricing structure, it usually shows the contractor is uncertain how long the project will take.
