If you choose to paint your home yourself, you can save on the cost of labor. But if you don’t have the time or experience to tackle to job, it’s worth paying the going rate for painters in your area. If your home requires power washing prior to painting, and if it requires caulking for windows and doors, the cost will also rise. Whether paint is applied with a sprayer, brushed, or rolled on will also factor into the price. A painting pro can easily offer an estimate prior to undertaking an exterior painting job. Paint made for the exterior of a house is formulated differently from that destined for interior paint jobs. Exterior house paint is blended to withstand rain, wind, and varying temperatures, while interior house paint is formulated to hide minor imperfections such as brush marks, handprints, and scuffs. Interior paints can be made washable for convenience, and doesn’t require exposure to light to cure. Broomfield Home Painting
Painters will agree that you should always aim to paint in the part of the year when it’s least likely to rain, has low humidity, and when the temperatures are above 50 F. Rain can wash wet latex paint off a wall, and temps that are too low can affect the way the paint sticks to the walls. Some painters will add additives to the paint if working in very high temperatures to slow down the drying time. House Painting Broomfield Colorado
Generally speaking, a gallon of paint will cover about 350 square feet. If this is the first time drywall is painted, it will soak up more paint. And remember to factor in whether your job will require one or two coats of paint. Dark and bright colors will require more coats of paint, as will painting a lighter color over an existing darker color. Divide the paintable wall surface by 350 to determine how many gallons of paint you will need to buy. If there’s an odd number with less than .5 leftover, round down, if it’s over .5 round up.
Choose the best quality paint you can afford; it lasts longer. Experts estimate that the outside of a house should be painted every 5-7 years, but less-expensive paint may start peeling or fading in 4 years or less while really high-quality paint will hold up a bit longer. Some siding on older homes might need so much repair that it is more cost-effective to replace the siding rather than repair it all and then paint over it. Expect to pay between $1,550 and $3,050 for the removal and disposal of old siding and $4,000 to $14,000 for new siding and installation. Expect to pay more if the wood underneath is wet and rotten and needs structural repair work. Broomfield House Painting
Recent Review: Very happy with the end product.  We worked with Josh and he was excellent in explaining and answering questions throughout the project.  He, the deck, paint & roof crew were very professional & courteous.   Work spanned over a period of 5 days.  Only complaint is the punctuality of when crew showed up vs when they said they will.  Not a big deal but would have been great if they were punctual.   Overall extremely satisfied with the finished project. “M. Brett Painting just completed a commercial painting job for me at a major retailer. Being an out of state Property Manager, sometimes you have to rely on gut feelings and trust when contracting someone to do work that you are not going to be around for. M. Brett Painting was so easy to work with from obtaining the bid all the way through the completion of the job. When I visited the site a couple of weeks after completion and saw the quality of work without me looking over their shoulder, I was EXTREMELY pleased. I will definitely use them again when the need for any painting job I need competed in the area.”
Once you find a painting pro you want to hire, be sure to have a detailed contract that includes the scope of work and prices for all materials and paint that is being used. Find out how many coats of paint will be applied as well as the brand of paint that will be used. Most decent painting pros will use quality brands like BEHR or Sherwin Williams. The contract should also spell out the time frame to complete the project and as well as set up clean up details.

I was completely satisfied with Marcos Painting. They have excellent customer service and worked very hard to make sure I was happy with the results. They did a great job, arrived when they said they would, finished when they said they would , and the price was fair. They even offered to return to paint a new front door that hadn’t arrived in time for them to paint it. I highly recommend these great guys! Broomfield House Painting
We made 1 coat a default option, as that is what most quotes are based on. However, we strongly recommend that you do 2 coats, when painting your home. While it ads about 30% to the total cost, your 2-coat paint job should last twice as long as single coat, at a fraction of the cost. This means that instead of painting your home again in 5 years, you will need to do it again in 9-10 years!

Peeling paint is a very common paint problem that can be caused either by moisture or poor adhesion. Peeling due to poor adhesion is characterized by the paint peeling and separating from an earlier paint layer (intercoat peeling) or from the substrate, leaving some paint behind. Sometimes, portions of earlier paint layers are visible under the curling, peeling paint layer. Broomfield Home Painting
Bernie is a con man. I contracted All about the House Painting and Remodeling to build a porch with a roof on the front of the house, extend the roof over the patio on back, extend the garage roof and install new shingles on both buildings. He was also to paint the exterior for a nice fresh look to the exterior. I paid for all materials ($10,000) and rented a dumpster($700). I gave him a check for $5,000 to pay his labor costs. I would also pay Bernie another $5,000 when the garage and house roof were shingled. At the completion of the job I would pay him another $5,000 plus any extra costs. I was told this would be a 3 week job. He started by first unloading construction debris from his previous job into my rented dumpster. The crew (2men) worked for 3 days 6hrs. each day the first week. Then came the excuses (valid or not) of why they had to be somewhere else the next week. Showing up sporadically made us (my wife and me) a bit nervous but Bernie assured me all was good. Showing up sporadically also gave us plenty of time to inspect the work being done. We both noticed things did not look good. I talked with the crew foreman when they showed up and he did redo quite a bit of the porch and the garage roof. I'm in construction , I know things happen so it will be ok, I hope. Time to shingle the house and when I get home they're finishing up the roof shingles on the house. Good, Things are finally moving forward after many delays. Problem with the roof. Roofers installed ridge vent that I had bought with out cutting the opening in the plywood. Bernie Shows up a few days later and he wants $2,000. Not exactly in the payment schedule. I ask him about the ridge vent not being correctly installed. This is when the friendly Bernie turned into angry Bernie. I wasn't prepared to give him $2,000. His crew did come back and they installed the ceiling on the porch. It was poorly installed. It was extremely wavy. He showed up the next week with his 14-year old son to do work. I told Bernie the ceiling needs redone before Bernie and his son can work on the back deck. Bernie became angry again. And in front of his son and crew and myself stormed off of the job saying"this is not a good fit". Several days go by and I call him to get the status of our contracted work. Bernie was cordial and said they'll be back. The crew showed up, Alonzo the foreman looked at the porch ceiling and took it down saying "I can't leave it like that". Bernie once again asked for money. I agreed and called home to my wife and have her give Bernie a check for $5,000. Bernie came to the house to get the check. My wife told me of his crude sexual innuendo that made her feel uncomfortable. Very unprofessional to say the least, more like sexual harassment. That was the last I saw of the crew. Bernie blocked my phone calls and texts. The new roof was leaking and I was blocked. I called another roofer told him the situation. He came and looked at the roof and said "you use my phone to see if you're being blocked. Sure enough Bernie answered the phone. I asked him if he was going to repair the leak on the new roof. After a little back and forth Bernie went insane.. In front of the other roofer with the phone on speaker Bernie lost it. He called me "************" and threatened violence. I handed the phone back while Bernie was screaming obscenities. It has now been 7 months since I contracted with Bernie and All About The House. My project is halfway complete. The new roof leaks. I am now doing the work myself. I regret hiring Bernie and All About the House Painting.
While vinyl siding salespeople claim it never needs to be painted, it does lose its color strength over time, and the degree of fading can vary depending on which sides get the most exposure to sunlight. Perhaps it still hasn’t faded, but you don’t like the color much. You can’t go any darker than its current color, though, because the siding is designed to absorb only so much heat, and a darker color could cause it to buckle. Vinyl paint is available in many colors. Brush painting and roll painting vinyl siding costs $43 per 100 sq. ft., and spray painting costs $34 per 100 sq. ft. Broomfield House Painting
"Westside Building and Restoration Inc. Can be trusted to provide an accurate and reasonable quote and deliver an excellent end result. We had our 30 year old deck restored and they really did a great job. Half way through the job I made a change to our request and they didn t miss a beat. From the friendly voice that answers the phone and stays in touch throughout the job, the experienced owner who estimates and manages the job and the carpenters and painters who do quality work you can trust Westside to do an excellent job. A single gallon of paint can run anywhere from $20 to $80 per gallon. Professionals get a contractor discount of anywhere from 25 to 50 percent. For rough siding, like stucco, you’ll need to use 10% to 20% more paint. Some textures, like wood and stucco, require extra paint because they have more surface to cover in a tiny area compared to smooth siding. Use the highest quality exterior paint your budget will allow for your project. It will look the nicest and save you money by offering better coverage and durability. Better coverage means fewer coats and fewer work hours. You’ll also go a few years longer without needing to shell out more cash for a new coat. How do you know how much paint you're paying for? Here's some helpful math:
Most of a projects price is the cost of labor at $25 to $75 per hour. However, most contractors bid out based on the entire project which includes all work hours. Hourly rates are only useful if your pro asks to do the job as “time and materials.” However, be wary of this pricing structure, it usually shows the contractor is uncertain how long the project will take.
Supplies and Equipment – Scraping, sanding, and stripping tools and supplies; patching compound; power washer rental; primer; caulk; masking supplies; painters’ tape; ladders and scaffolding; paint pans; brushes, sprayers, and roller brushes all cost money, even if you do it yourself. Consider all of those tools and equipment sitting in your garage for the rest of your life vs. paying an experienced painter to do it all for you at a price that saves you weeks of time. Expect to pay $5–$6 per 100 sq. ft. for supplies and materials. House Painting Broomfield CO

You might pay an additional $1 to $5 per square foot for optional repairs and updates. Consider having your molding, trim and baseboards checked while you have a professional in your home. This might be a good time to upgrade or repair any cracks, warps or other issues. Pros can usually touch up or replace these items for an affordable rate, and they may even package such fixups with your project. House Painting Broomfield Colorado
